Another Rave Review for the Nationally Praised Graphic Novel from Seattle Creators Frank Young and David Lasky
AS CLASSIC AND CLASSY AS COUNTRY MUSIC ITSELF. AND IT MAKES YOU CRY.

"Don't Forget This Song" has been featured in Time Magazine and on boingboing.net as well as many other national periodicals.
The excellent artwork evokes the newspaper comics of the time. At some point an annotated edition would be fun!
The storytelling is equally top notch, building the story from chapter to chapter, bringing us close to the people and the songs. The storytelling is flexible, using short chapters that provide vignettes of the Carter Family career, the history of early radio, and American culture and history during those years.
If you have any affection for or interest in the roots of country music you'll want to read this book, and read it over. Plus the book contains a generous amount of background material - and a CD! The edition looks great. Abrams is to be congratulated.It seems it took a number of years to bring this to print. Yet there is no faltering. This is a powerful and sustained book.
And the ending is just beautiful. It DID make me cry.

Met lots of wonderful artists at the Short Run Small Press Fest in Seattle today. Help! I've run out of notes for identifying these pictures. I stopped by Colleen Frakes' table a couple of times, but she wasn't there! She sent a kind email to tell me she must have been out to lunch. Too bad! I wanted to meet her and take a photo. Also, Peter Bagge was not at his table when I passed it. Maybe he was off drawing pictures...
I'll find the names of everybody as I make my way through my treasure-trove collection of art. Check back to see scans of artwork as well! All in all a very fun day and a charming bunch of people!
